The situation

The commission’s previous portal had failed during the closing window of two consecutive recruitment cycles, each failure attracting press coverage and writ petitions. Selection decisions were also difficult to reconstruct when challenged.

What we built

An application platform with document upload and verification, fee payment and reconciliation, centre allocation, admit card generation, answer key publication with a structured objection cycle, and reservation roster computation.

Every state change is written to an append-only audit log with actor, timestamp and prior value. A selection made under one year’s rules can be re-explained under those rules years later.

Outcome

The cycle absorbed over a million applications, with roughly two-thirds arriving in the final seventy-two hours, without downtime. Objection handling and result recomputation ran inside the platform instead of on spreadsheets.
