You will work on systems where correctness is not negotiable — recruitment platforms that get challenged in court, banking flows where a failed transaction means a customer has handed over cash for nothing.
What you will do
- Design and build backend services in Java, Node.js or Python
- Model data for systems that must reconcile exactly, every time
- Work directly with client teams during discovery and rollout
- Take part in on-call rotation for systems you help build
What we look for
- 5+ years building production backend systems
- Strong relational database skills — schema design, query performance, transactions and isolation levels
- Experience with systems under real load, and the judgement to know what will break first
- Clear written communication, because much of our work is documented for auditors and successors
What we do not require
A specific degree, or a particular framework on your CV. We care whether you can reason about a system that has to be right.
